Environmental Health
Environmental health is the section of public health that focuses on the relationships between people and their environment: promotes human health and well-being and fosters healthy and safe communities in conjunction with public health nursing. Environmental health is a key part of any comprehensive public health system. Maintaining a healthy environmental is not only central to increasing quality of life but also years of healthy life.
The Environmental Health Division works to prevent or reduce the risks from environmental hazards. Division programs seek to prevent disease or injury associated with food, water, animals, vectors, and solid & hazardous waste. Environmental health focuses on educating the public, enforcing public health laws, and investigating environmental health hazards in the community.
